Critical Disclaimer
This website provides theoretical simulations only based on standardized wood database values (USDA Wood Handbook). Natural materials vary significantly. DO NOT use these calculations for load-bearing structures without verification by a licensed structural engineer in your jurisdiction.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the Wood Engineering Systems website ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. In addition, when using these particular services, you shall be subject to any posted guidelines or rules applicable to such services.
2. Intellectual Property
The Calculation Engine, code snippets, algorithms, and the specific arrangement of the Materials Database are the proprietary property of Wood Engineering Systems.
You are granted a limited license only for purposes of viewing the material and conducting simulations for personal or professional planning. You are strictly prohibited from:
- Reverse engineering the deflection calculation algorithms.
- Scraping the material database for commercial resale.
- Republishing the generated PDF reports without attribution.
3. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL WOOD ENGINEERING SYSTEMS, NOR ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES, BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM STRUCTURAL FAILURE.
Translation: If you build a deck based on this site and it collapses, we are not responsible. Wood is a natural material with knots, cracks, and imperfections that math cannot fully predict.
4. Accuracy of Materials
The materials appearing on the Service could include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. We do not warrant that any of the materials on its website are accurate, complete, or current. We may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice.
